This is NOT just a spring, but a hydraulic piston, much like a shock absorber. InstallingInstall the tensioner as normal.Leave the adjusting bolt loose.Arrange the belt on all pulleys except the tensioner.SLOWLY compress the tensioner piston using the tensioning boss built into the tensioner bracket.Maximum compression is about 3/4 inch.
